in todays modern world definitely logical thinking or analytical thinking is more preferred

emotional thinking like system 1 describe on dual process theory https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual_process_theory is only reasonable on the jungle when prejudice, bias and other shortcut way of thinking is more common because of the need to quickly get out of harms way, its like there is no time to think if the wood falling on the ground is a sign that there is a tiger or not nearby so you better run as fast as quickly as you can even if your guess is wrong https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Error_management_theory#Other_examples

Obviously logic, as it's a good thing to be rational, but I feel I end up making a lot of my decisions based on how I feel. My partner is the cold, rational thinker, where I'm the more emotive one between the two of us, which I think makes us complement each other. I'm able to look past my feelings for more serious issues, though, even if I feel strongly against it. It's more trivial and semi-important matters that I act on based upon my feelings.

Make logical decisions based on personal taste, is what I do.

I don't decide it, someone does it for me and I act on it blindly.

Ohhh... The feeling I get when I read this.

Emotions and logic aren't opposites, but tied to each other. We choose things to affect our emotions, and emotions are a way for us to understand what's right and wrong (Not a surefire, but one way of knowing).

My emotions take over me all the time and the decisions I make are never good. So probably logic

Both obviously.
There is no "one fits all" in this world.

i think both are important. an overabundance of logic in decision making can lead to a callous mindset; an overabundance of emotion can make really shitty decisions

Whatever decision taken with emotions is a mistake, that's what I learnt. So, logic all the way, even if I know it should depend on situation.

Depends on what the decisions are. I usually weigh decisions with both my head and heart, though.

Logic is based purely on reasoning, usually by exploring the concept of a certain premise or argument and coming to a conclusion, as a result it can be explored without emotion.

In most practical scenarios however a mix of emotions - taking into account the intentions and feelings of all the parties involved, and empirical evidence are needed for decision making.

Both have their own utility. I tend to prefer logic for impersonal things and emotions for personal things. Though people doubt that I even follow my emotions in anything but anger.

The line between emotions and rationality gets really blurry if you are a rational-tempered person. At that point, your emotions start to align with what you think is the rationally better path. It's hard to differentiate then. Between one judging preference or the other, I can only choose both.

80% logic and 20% emotion is what you wanna aim for.

Now don't ask me how I managed to quantify logic and emotion.

Practical logic demands emotions, since we're dealing with the world and we're affected by it. Abstract logic doesn't, but you can't decide things based on "If Y came before X, then Y couldn't be caused by X". That's disconnected from reality. You need to put things into the equation, and you only put them because they matter.

Emotions might seem like they're only an obstacle in making decisions sometimes but not considering them when you make decisions is a bad choice.

Even if you think of them as useless, the fact remains that they're still there and everybody has them. In other words, they are just as much a crucial part in deciding something as logic is.

The important thing is to do what's best according to the situation. There's plenty of decisions you could be making in the future and there's no one-size-fits-all solution.

Since I was young, I had believed that
A princess in picture book is a strong person
Things to be protected, and things I want to protect
Will never be fulfilled, no matter how long, if I just kept dreaming

I like to think it depends on the situation at hand. Some problems can't be solved with logic, others can.

Emotions aren't impulses. Deciding on basis of emotions is basically considering your feelings about things rather than things themselves.
