Reviews for "Die for the Lich [v0.3.3]"

i continue to learn that i really should not gamble becuase my luck only ever lets me win impossible odds for the worst things ever

MadNukin responds:

Less luck, more trinkets!

i love laugh when i get critical. game is kinda depends on luck tho.

MadNukin responds:

Early on in the game it's more about luck, but you can build some control with trinkets, special dice and the weapons you pair them with.
But I understand the critique, the goal was to always build a game where you make your own luck and maybe it's not as close as we'd have like to.
We will keep improving!

Nice little rogue-lite to kill some time. Very atmospheric too. Wishlisted it on steam, curious to see the full game once it releases. Great job.

Miroko responds:

Once we release it, it won't be that little. Keep an eye out for updates!

Straight to my wishlist!

This game checks all the right boxes for me—rogue-like elements, a well-balanced difficulty curve, and mechanics that are easy to learn but offer surprising depth. The more I play, the more I uncover unexpected synergies, making new runs feel fresh and rewarding.
My very minor complaints:
1-Add different variations of the laugh with the "critical", because I had like 5 times the exact same sound play and it becomes annoying because of repetitiveness.
2-Very small suggestion for quality of life improvement, make the game auto-skip your turn when your tray is empty and you have no longer any items that you can use.

Miroko responds:

Mads said it well, I'd just add that I can fix the laugh quite easily by either making it a small chuckle most of the time and some long ones at random, and or just add more laughs lol.
The skipping your turn issue, if you don't have any more dice could be a bit better if the 'end turn' button lights up or a keyboard shortcut.
Thanks for playing, appreciate the feedback.

MadNukin responds:

Die for the Lich is a love letter to those genres and I'm happy that it's appreciated and understood :)
I agree that the laugh can get annoying and we'll see how we can fix that.
I'm not a fan of when games make actions for me, that's why we chose to keep it always manual, but I completely understand.

Very cool, glad to see an options menu with volume slider, though what prompted the comment is a bug I found with the iron sword, which says on crit, you can roll an extra die, however standard d20s don't seem to be acceptable. this may also be the case for other variations of d20, but I did not see those in the runs I played.

MadNukin responds:

You are completely right, I have forgotten to add the D20 as an option, great catch!
It should be fixed once we push an update (soon).
